Use this low-prep activity to give students practice spelling plural nouns!

Roll and Write the Plural worksheet

 

Have students complete all 8 examples on each worksheet, or cut the worksheets in half (pictured) for powerful, efficient practice.

To complete the activity, students will:

  1. Roll the die.
  2. Draw the corresponding number of dots in the box.
  3. Write the number and the picture’s name, using the plural form if they rolled a number higher than 1.

Well, hello!

My name is Anna Geiger. I’m a former teacher (M.Ed.) and mom of six.

I was a balanced literacy advocate for twenty years. As both a classroom teacher and teacher educator, I promoted three-cueing using leveled texts. I taught phonics, but I didn’t use a scope and sequence. I provided very little direct instruction because I was sure it would bore my students.

Fast-forward to 2019, when I realized that many of my teaching practices weren’t backed by research. After my initial grieving period, I dug in to learn what evidence-based instruction truly looks like. (Turns out a structured approach isn’t boring after all!) Today, my mission is to create and share resources that make research-based teaching simple and help you teach reading with confidence.

I’m currently enrolled in a PhD in Literacy program so I can get even better at translating the research for busy teachers like you.
